Comparing QID and PSQ

January 11, 2009

In the latest Covestor blog post, there is a reference to my November 05, 2008 post.  My blog post included equity curves for the QLD/QID and QLD/PSQ models so investors could compare the curves for an ultra short model (QID – Proshares Ultra Short QQQ) and a short model (PSQ – Proshares Short QQQ). The difference between the two is that the ultra short ETF is designed to achieve the inverse of two times the daily return of the underlying index whereas the short ETF is designed to achieve the inverse of the daily return of the underlying index .  The underlying index for both QID and PSQ is the Nasdaq 100.  For the benefit of my readers, below are updated equity curves for these two models.
